A Few Photos of Circo in Houston

For the last few weeks, Discovery Green Park and Avenida Houston have hosted some very fun and free public shows featuring acrobats, contortion, and overall fun events. It seemed like a good opportunity to carry my camera with me and try to take a few photos without being disruptive like the lady who felt it was appropriate to take a selfie or herself and her kid while the show was going on 🙂

Here are some photos of Houston’s own Cirque la Vie performing Sophia:

Next was eVenti Verticali performing Wanted:

This was also fun and unexpected. They combined a video backscreen while doing amazing feats of not breaking their necks while dangling from a rope.

If that wasn’t amazing enough, 2 weeks later, It’s Not Yet Midnight was performed by Compagnie XY. This was really high powered stuff that made everybody in the audience feel as if they were out of shape.

Little hand stand for you…

How about flying in the air without any trampolines or anything?

How about a gentle stroll through the air?

How high can you go? I hurt my knee making a layup against some old guys.

There was a high level of showmanship as well.

Overall, this was a great show. There are a few more shows coming up as well so check your local listings, or something.
