Pictures from the 20th Annual Theater District Open House Houston

Theater District Open House 2013

It was an absolute pleasure to go to my first Theater district open house this past weekend.  I wasn’t sure if photography would even be allowed but figured I would bring my camera along just in case.  For the most part, except for the performances, nobody had any issues with photography.

The tour it self is very well planned and each of the major performance halls in downtown roll out the red carpet and give backstage tours, demonstrations of their shows, or otherwise give access to some very exclusive parts of their venues which normally are off limits to the general public.  I highly recommend you catch them the next time they have an open house.

The photography is pretty straight forward – mostly available light.

Beautiful view of the stage. The height of the honeycomb ceiling is adjustable depending on the show and acoustics needed.

The main lobby of Jones Hall. See if you can spot Elvis in the crowd.
