Market Square Park in Houston has had some very good bands on display in the last few months. Last month’s band, Cello Fury was followed by Walter “Wolfman” Washington and the Roadmasters on Saturday. Very different types of music of course, but who doesn’t love a free show out on the lawn while surrounded by a concrete jungle? The hot summer may be a different story of course.
This time, I brought my 80-200 f/2.8 telephoto lens too. I’ve been thinking of selling it and getting something slower but with more ground to cover, but tonight convinced me that I need to have a f/2.8 telephoto even if it’s not ideal for birding or other things that require long focal lengths. I don’t think I could take these pictures with an f/5.6 zoom. Even at f/2.8, many of these were at ISO 6400. Took a little video too but many people walk in front of the shot so I just thought a little taste would give an idea of the band.
